The beautiful and original items shown here are kiln-formed glass. They are the result of a process of fusing and forming glass in a kiln at temperatures bewteen 1100 and 1700 degrees Fahrenheit. | |||||||

A minimum of four firings, each about twelve hours long, is necessary. A final firing at a lower temperature gives the glass its final shape. The work shown here is Patricia's Pre-Columbian Empires Series. |

The design of each plate is hand painted with powdered mica and is embellished with dichroic glass and 14K gold paint. The results are a striking combination of motifs and colors. |
